Hard Times For Mom-Annie

Email from Erica to Family and Friends:
I wanted to let you know what's been going on with my mom over the last few days.  She had been off her chemotherapy for about a month because it was knocking her platelet levels down too low for her to continue.  Consequently, the tumor in her liver grew sufficiently that she developed a blockage in her liver that is covering the valve that drains the bilirubens (toxins) out of her body.  Due to the high level of biliruben in her blood, she has become extremely jaundiced, weak, and confused.
Yesterday, she underwent a procedure to place a metal stent and a drain through her liver, with the hopes that it will drain the toxins and she will feel better and more lucid.  Ultimately, the hope is that her liver function will improve enough that she will be able to restart chemotherapy, which will hopefully shrink the tumors in her liver.  At this point, we are just waiting to see how it all goes.
This is a really hard time for my mom and everyone who knows and loves her.  I am honestly undecided about whether sending blessings or good energy does any good, but just in case, please hold my mom in your thoughts and prayers.  I will try to send out another update when I have more news.
Thanks,
Erica
